IT'S A LIE...WE ARE NOT PROBING WINNERS' CHAPEL...SAYS UK Bishop David Oyedepo

The British Government, through its Charity Commission, has said it is not investigating Winners Chapel International, a church belonging to the popular pentecostal clergyman, Dr. David Oyedepo.

A spokeswoman for the commission said the CC was only considering the financial information provided by the church.

The CC is responsible for registering eligible organisations in England and Wales that are established for only charitable purposes, taking enforcement action when there is malpractice or misconduct and ensuring charities meet their legal requirements.

It also provides information on their activities each year, making appropriate information about each registered charity widely available, providing online services and guidance to help charities run as effectively as possible.

Responding to an email enquiry by our correspondent, the commission’s spokeswoman, Sarah Hitchings, said that the consideration of the church’s finances by the British Government did not qualify as conducting an investigation on the church.

EKITI STATE…CAN FAYOSE SUCCEED BY BULLYING LEGISLATORS?…IS GEJ PLAYING HIS USUAL ROLE OF AN OSTRICH UNTIL THE STATE EXPLODES?

EKITI STATE...CAN FAYOSE SUCCEED BY BULLYING LEGISLATORS?...IS GEJ PLAYING HIS USUAL ROLE OF AN OSTRICH UNTIL THE STATE EXPLODES?Fayose has sealed my office, says Speaker

The Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly, Dr. Adewale Omirin, said on Tuesday that Governor Ayodele Fayose had ordered the sealing off of his office.

This, the Speaker claimed, followed the action of seven PDP members of Ekiti State House of Assembly who illegally sat to attempt to change the leadership of the House, but only succeeded in approving the reconstitution of the local government caretaker committees and confirmation of the commissioner-nominees sent to the House of Assembly last week by Fayose.

A statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Wole Olujobi,ý said the governor had earlier employed threats and coercion, including freezing the accounts of the Assembly, cutting off the electricity supply from the Speaker’s Lodge and stopping statutory votes for the Speaker’s upkeep and protocol to intimidate Omirin and have firm control of the House.

He added that on Tuesday, the…

JONATHAN DOES NOT DESERVE A SECOND TERM

Do you think the government should consider negotiating with Boko Haram?

My own opinion is this: When you talk of Boko Haram, who are they? How can you say you are going to negotiate with a nebulous group? They have not declared their identity. Are you going to be talking to the air? The people you want to negotiate with, who are they? Have they even given you their own terms? You can’t know or see them because they are nebulous people.

And if you’re bold enough they will come and kill you. And you yourself, you need to know what you are negotiating for? Did you offend them? You are just sitting down and somebody tells you to quit. Look at all the innocent people they have killed, and taken innocent people (Chibok girls) hostage, and there…

JONATHAN DOES NOT DESERVE A SECOND TERM

Former Archbishop of Lagos and first president of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), in this interview  speaks about the politicization of CAN, involvement of Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor in the $9.3 million cash-for-arm deal, among other issues.
How is life in retirement and what is a typical day like for you now that you are retired?

Well, it is still the same life, except that we do not engage ourselves in too much pastoral work as we used to do when on active duty. On a typical day, I wake up in the morning like any other person. I say my prayers, go for my Mass, then do some exercises and go for a walk because of my leg. Then I take my breakfast and after that I sit down and people start coming to see me. And I will be there sitting…

IS CHRIS OKOTIE A CHRISTIAN?...HOW MANY WIVES HAS HE?...ASKS DIRECTOR OF NATIONAL ISSUES AT CAN Okotie’s last wedding

Okotie lacks moral right to question Oritsejafor — CAN

The Christian Association of Nigeria has challenged the founder of Household of God, Pastor Chris Okotie to manage his home and keep to biblical principles of one man, one wife.

The association was reacting to the demand by Okotie that its President, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, should resign over the alleged involvement of his aircraft in the controversial $9.3m smuggled into South Africa by two Nigerians and an Israeli.

Okotie, had in a statement by Okotie on his church’s Facebook page, said, “Considering the collateral damage Pastor Ayo’s close relationship with the President has done to the Christian community, it is fit and proper for the Pastor to resign immediately as CAN President to salvage what remains of the battered image of the association.

“This is without prejudice to the on-going investigation on the matter. Denials of his culpability…

Connecticut Bishop Dies In Church After Being Confronted About Infidelity by family

A Connecticut bishop died in front of his congregation Sunday after his family reportedly publicly confronted him about a past act of infidelity that his wife of 50 years, Christine, pushed him to confess.

One source, who asked not to be identified during an interview with The Christian Post on Thursday, said the confession wasn’t that clean-cut based on what they were told, and feels the situation could have been handled better.

“He (Bishop Davis) had confessed it (infidelity) personally to his wife prior to the service, and she called a meeting after church with just the members and the members stayed. He wasn’t there at the time, he was somewhere else apparently, neither of them were in the service that morning. They had one of their pastors do the service,” explained the source.

“From what I was…
